10 apps that will help you with shopping this holiday season

Lights, ornaments and pine trees have invaded retail stores all over the country, which means holiday shopping season is in full swing.

Many people won't have time or patience to physically go holiday shopping this year, and you might be one of those busy individuals. But fret not; the Daily News has put together a list of apps that makes shopping for the ideal gift easy and stress free.

Here are 10 apps that will save you time and money when shopping this holiday season:

RetailMeNot

Most people wait for Black Friday and Cyber Monday to purchase their holiday gifts, but with RetailMeNot, you can find great deals way ahead of the store's big sales. RetailMeNot is a free app that offers deals and savings on the app for both in-store and online shopping in a variety of categories. RetailMeNot also gives you extra perks like free shipping, gift wrapping and even rebates that don't expire.

Giftster

Keeping track of all the things your family asked for Christmas can be difficult, but there are several gift shopping lists in the app stores that make checking off gifts an easy task.

Gifster is a free app that lets families set up a gift registry with lists of gifts for each family member. Once all members have created a list, anyone within the group can browse and reserve to buy a specific gift so there are no duplicates.

If Gifster is not the app for you, you can try other alternatives such as Santa's Bag and Christmas Gift List.

Ring

This might not be a holiday specific app, but it'll definitely come in handy if you do all your shopping online. Ring is an app that live-streams video of your doorstep every time someone rings your doorbell and lets you communicate with that person. The app requires a doorbell camera, but it's ideal for when the UPS employee delivers your kids' gaming consoles. With Ring you'll never miss another package again.

Slice

Speaking of the UPS, here's an app that can help you track all your packages without you having to enter a tracking number ever again. Slice is a free app that goes through your email to find all your e-receipts in order to collect tracking numbers. Once Slice has gathered all the tracking numbers, it updates them on a map that shows where packages are and when they're supposed to arrive.

Pounce

Do you ever see something on the street you like, but wouldn't know where to buy it? Well, Pounce wants to fix that. Pounce turns your camera into a "buy" button.

For example, if you were to see a man on the subway carrying a backpack you like, you could just take a picture of it and Pounce will search for it on the Internet. If Pounce is able to find it, it will provide you with a link to purchase that backpack.

Pounce is supposed to work with almost everything from sinks to T-shirts.

Wish

Just like Fancy, Wish also offers cool, unique items. However, you'll fins way cheaper items on Wish. ON this app you'll find hundreds of items in fashion, accessories and electronics that are 50 to 80% cheaper than items at local malls.

Fancy

If you want to buy cool and hip items to gift your family and friends this holiday season then you might want to download Fancy. This app is very Pinterest-like in the sense that it features unique items you won't find anywhere else. You will find anything from watches, nigh lamps and everything in between. Although the merchandise on his app can be, in fact, "fancy" it can also be expensive.

RedLaser

You'll no longer have to collect coupons and store catalogs to compare prices. RedLaser is an app that scans product barcodes to see which store offers the cheapest price. For example, if you're at Target shopping for a PS4 and you scan the console, RedLaser will compare the price with other retail stores and guide to the one with the cheapest PS4.

If RedLaser can't offer you a better deal, it will also offer you alternatives and even extra accessories that you might also be interested in buying.

Groupon

Sometime a coupon to a spa is better than the latest gadget from Apple. Groupon can help you find a fun and different kind of gift by browsing through the plethora of coupons in outdoor activities, travel and even goods.

Amazon

If all else fails and you can't find the perfect gift, there is always Amazon. The online retailer will be having thousands of Lightning Deals on items in every category. Additionally, Amazon has launched its Black Friday Deals store three weeks early to give Prime members access to deals and savings.
