BlackBerry outs updated DTEK, Camera, Hub, Contacts, Keyboard for PRIV

As promised, BlackBerry is keeping its apps regularly updated. This ensures everything is safe, secure, and private especially since the Priv is the first ever Android-powered BlackBerry device. As we all know, Android isn't totally free from being compromised but BlackBerry knows privacy and security better than anyone else. Just yesterday, the Canadian smartphone pioneer rolled out the updated apps that are now downloadable from the Google Play Store.

The updates for DTEK, Hub, Contacts, Camera, and Keyboard apps include numerous bug fixes and enhancements. Most of the fixes and new features came from the feedback of early BlackBerry Priv adopters. This round of updates follows the first software update for BlackBerry PRIV released only last week.

For DTEK, the main app that helps BlackBerry secure, now features more notification options for future alerts you want to be notified of. Feel free to turn on notifications by location, type, camera, or microphone, You can now also turn on all notifications at once for all apps.

When it comes to the Keyboard app, simultaneous and regular language support were improved. You can now also correct and predict a maximum of similar languages at the same time. You can now add emojis to predictive typing if you want. Twenty more input languages were added while Fine Cursor Control and Touch Keyboard were upgraded.

The updated Camera app boasts of new pre-capture indicators even for low-light or HDR photos, full screen 16:9 image capture, and overall improvement on performance and speed. The app now also features pre-capture indicators for Low Light and HDR images. As for Hub & Contacts, you'll notice it now features WhatsApp integration plus additional keyboard shortcuts, new way to sort messages, location lookup, and improved content sync for text messages and emails.
