Apple released its list of the most downloaded apps of 2015--we run them down on #TalkingTech.

MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. - Trivia Crack, the addictive game enabling you to challenge people you've never met about movie and TV minutiae was Apple's most downloaded iPhone app of the year.

Apple releases it's annual top 10 list every December around this time. Last year's no. 1 app, Facebook Messenger, comes in 2nd place this year. This year Facebook added live phone calls to the messaging app.

The rest of the top 10:

--Dubsmash, for lip syncing to a library of songs, comes in at no. 3

--In 4th place, the photo sharing app Instagram, had a huge year, with 400 million users and 80 million photos uploaded daily.

--No. 5 Snapchat has 100 million users, and is taking on Facebook and YouTube with massive video viewing--some 6 billion videos are viewed daily on Snapchat.

--At no. 6: The YouTube channel, which expanded this year, by offering a $9.99 monthly ad-free version, YouTube Red.

--Facebook, which expanded heavily into video this year to become YouTube's main rival, with an astounding 8 billion daily video views, comes in at no. 7 and the Uber ride-hailing app at no. 8.

--No. 9 brings the Crossy Road game, which was created in Australia

--At no. 10, the top app for finding your way home, Google Maps. Apple's own mapping program, Apple Maps, is pre-installed on iPhones. If you don't like it--you download another.

Speaking of Google, it released it's own "Best of" chart on Google Play this week as well, but didn't include a chart. At the top of the list was Flipagram, the app for turning your Camera Roll and Instagram photos into music videos.
