GoPro Launches New Video-editing Apps

GoPro has outed two powerful editing mobile-based apps that will enable iOS and Android users to edit videos easily.

According to CNet, one app is for advanced cutting, the other for automated edits. The company has now officially relaunched both of the apps with a number of updates, enabling GoPro users to edit videos cleanly and quickly without the need for a laptop or stationary editing bay. Quik has essentially been rebranded and was previously called Replay.

You can add transitions and fun filters and your own voiceover if that's something you're into, and export it in high quality for sharing. It d can even match cuts to the beat of your chosen soundtrack. Users can also add title slides, custom text overlays and even emojis.

While GoPro Inc.is arguably the most popular brand for action camera enthusiasts, it has so far offered little in terms of mobile editing software.

Quik is on iOS and Android now, Splice is just on iOS for the moment. Splice, meanwhile, has a more diverse array of features. Splice might not be as fast as Quik but it still allows users to create "in just minutes" fully customized, professional-looking videos.

Splice was formerly designed by the Texas-based software company Vemory. It is essentially a "professional desktop editor at your fingertips".

Splice certainly comes with plenty of features and functionality. The mobile app lets users trim clips, splice together different clips, and choose transitions. Apparently, many GoPro users don't want to do it, either, so in February the camera maker went out and bought a couple of apps to help make editing on phones and tablets easier. GoPro users will be able create impressive clips with minimum effort.
