Note 4 Camera Blurry Not Focusing

Problem: My camera is blurry and won't focus. I've tried everything and it doesn't work

Related Problem: Camera continues to NOT focus. I can't keep resetting camera every time I want to take a picture

Solution: There are instances when the phone does not seem to focus causing the photos to appear blurry. When this happens try to perform the following troubleshooting steps listed below. Move to the next step should the issue still occur.

  • If your phone is inside a case remove it from its case.
  • Clean the camera lens using a microfiber cloth or lens paper cleaner. Sometimes smudges in the outer lens causes the photos to appear blurry.
  • Clear the cache and data of the camera app. This will delete the temporary data stored in the app which could cause the issue.
  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn't then a third party app installed in your device could be causing the problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Backup your phone data and do a factory reset. After the reset do not install anything in your phone yet. Check first if the issue still occurs.
  • If the issue still occurs after performing the above steps then this could already be a hardware related problem possibly caused by a faulty camera module. I suggest you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Buzzing Sound In Rear Camera

Problem: when my  Samsung note 4 rear camera is open its buzzing crackling  sound from lens and screen image gets blurry it looses focus sometime image look clear but lens makes noise  worked on all things like safe mode , factory reset still problem persist

Solution: This issue could be caused by a problem with the Optical Image Stabilization feature of the camera. What this feature does is it shifts the camera lens in the opposite direction to offset any movement thus taking clearer photos. The buzzing sound that you hear is probably the camera lens trying to shift but can't do it properly which then causes photos to appear blurry. Since you already performed a factory reset which didn't solve the problem I suggest you have your phone checked at a service center.

Note 4 Photos Not Showing In Gallery App

Problem: HI, All of a sudden the pictures I take don't show up in the gallery app. They have all disappeared. They are however in DCIM and in my files. I have my phone backup pictures through Google Drive but they're not showing up in there either? How do I get them back in gallery and store on Google Drive?

Solution: What you need to do first in this case is to restart your phone. Restarting the phone refreshes the software which is effective in this case. Next, since this issue seems to be isolated to the Gallery app alone which can't detect your phone photos try wiping the cache and data of this app.

Another factor that you should consider is that a third party app installed in your phone is causing the problem. To check if this is the case you need to start your phone in Safe Mode. Once in this mode open the Gallery app then check if you can view your photos. If you are able to see the photos using the gallery app then the problem could be caused by one of the app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the above troubleshooting steps fail then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

    Note 4 Gallery App Crashes

Problem: Gallery crash on me this morning..I've lost all my pics from the last few years…I only backup up to  Sept 2015.  Is there a way to retrieve the pictures?

Solution: If it's only the Gallery app that crashed then your photos are still in your phone. Use a file explorer app to locate the photos. You can also connect your phone to your computer then search for the DCIM folder. This is where your photos should be located.

Regarding the Gallery app I would suggest that you clear the cache and data of this app. If the app still crashes then you will need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Note 4 Camera Video No Sound

Problem: I recently recorded a video in landscape mode at the FHD quality so that no features were disabled. However the video clip has no sound at all – as if it was intentionally muted or something. I then took a few more shorter videos and found that the audio did get recorded even though I did the same thing. I want to know how I can make sure to always have sound in my videos and if there is any way I can get my sound back on the first video file.

Solution: Since the issue disappeared after recording another video then this could just be caused by a software glitch. To prevent this issue from happening again I suggest you wipe the cache and data of the camera app. Follow this up by wiping the cache partition of your phone.
