A lot has been said about the narcissism of the selfie-taking generation, but it does have an upside. Researchers at the University of Washington have developed an app that can diagnose pancreatic cancer just by taking a selfie. According to DigitalTrends.com, the mobile app can screen for one of the deadliest forms of cancer in a non-invasive way. The app uses a smartphone camera, computer vision algorithms, and machine-learning tools to detect jaundice.
