ZTE Axon & Axon Pro Get An Update With New Camera Features

ZTE didn't hold back as far as smartphone launches go in 2015. This China-based company has released quite a few devices, and their most notable ones belong in Nubia and Axon lineups. The Nubia Z9, one of the 'Nubia' devices, is certainly amongst the most intriguing ones considering it doesn't sport any bezel on the sides. The company's Axon line, however, is also quite interesting, not only because of its design and quite serious audio capabilities, but because of the reason Axon devices also represent ZTE's focus on the international market. These devices ship to both China and all over the world, though software builds area somewhat different.

Anyhow, we've already reviewed a couple of ZTE's Axon devices this year, and are here to talk about two of them, the ZTE Axon and Axon Pro. These two handsets have received a new update which adds new features for the rear-facing camera, amongst other things. This OTA update actually includes security patches from Google, Qualcomm's modem patches and the aforementioned camera features. Once you install hits update, you'll be able to use the Quick Launch button which will open the camera app, and it's quite fast doing so as well. The digital zoom has also been improved, and it will now let you get closer to the object in focus without messing up the picture too much. Now, on top of all this, the Axon Pro's update also adds T-Mobile's Wi-Fi Calling 2.0, which might be a really interesting feature for those of you who are using T-Mobile's network. The update also gives the Axon Pro the ability to focus significantly faster in low-light situations, which is always usef ul.

That is pretty much it as far as the update goes, but it is worth mentioning that both of these phones sport two cameras on the back, the 13-megapixel and 2-megapixel ones. The 13-megapixel shooter is the main camera, while the 2-megapixel one will let you create bokeh effect, in other words, you'll be able to re-focus after the shot has been taken. The 8-megapixel shooter is located on the front side of both of these devices, in case you were wondering.
