Is the Removal of the App Drawer a Big Deal?

Interestingly, Google Chief Executive Officer Sundar Pichai is letting the public name the upcoming version of the Android operating system.

According to Ubergizmo, there are certain indications that Google is planning to ditch the app drawer or at least give users the option to disable it. It now has a thematic organization of policies, which helps developers grasp the broad strokes as well as the detail behind those policies. The more common infractions now have visual examples and detailed explanations, too. LG has made it and the Nexus 4 from 2012 well- received smart phones, owing to LG's experience in making innovative smart phones. It also stated that serious or repeated violations would result in account termination. In that idea, it makes sense for Google to communicate its policies better.

It is rumoured that Google could be about to remove one of Android's most popular features. Instead, the Nexus 6P's home screen in the video shows the Dialler, Contacts, and Camera apps in the bottom dock, apart from apps for Search, Chrome, Maps, Photos, and Hangouts.

Google updated its App Drawer in the latest version of Android Marshmallow, adding a new carousel of recently used apps at the top of the page.

But there is a quick way to declutter - creating folders then dragging and depositing the app icons to these cabinets.

There may be other changes buried in there as well, but this will require a more careful read-through to discover them. Folks who don't have the Google Keyboard app, but want to try it, can download it for free from Google Play (see the download link at the end of this article).

The new policy center is live now, and developers are invited share their feedback about the changes.
